Veterinary Practice in Northeastern Montana in 1960

Delightful vignettes about caring for animals large and small in the West make this book an enjoyable and satisfying read.

Excellent memoir from a talented veterinarian. I thoroughly enjoyed his accounts of his experiences as a young Dr out of vet school , newly married and full of love for his profession and wife . Can’t wait for more!!

I enjoy veterinarian books, and this is one of the better ones. I enjoyed it very much. It’s a nice mixture of the nuts-and-bolts of medicine, mixed in with the background stories of the animals, their owners, and the vet and his family. It’s set in rural America of the 1960’s, so it has a slightly different sensibility from the many British books I have read on the subject. I definitely recommend it.
